From centaursite.com:
This comic, Defenders of Dynatron City, isn't about centaurs, or mermaids. But one of the characters, 'Buzzsaw Girl', shares an attribute of both centaurs and mermaids. From the hips up, she appears to be a normal human female, but, just like mermaids and centaurs, when you look at her lower body, you see she isn't quite human. She doesn't have the usual two legs. But then, she doesn't have four legs and / or a tail, nor gills.
In the comic, the citizens of Dynatron City have been drinking a soft drink that causes them to 'change'. Usually only in small ways, growing a third eye, hair color changes, stuff like that. But when Dr. Mayhem puts five people into a giant vat of the stuff, and a high voltage electrical wire is accidentally dropped in... Well, the results are more than just temporary, or cosmetic. All the people in the vat get transformed into super powered heros. But who cares about the rest of them? Lets talk about Buzzsaw Girl.
As her name implies, in the transformation process, her legs were fused together and a large sawblade was connected at the end. Imagine a mermaid, but instead of flukes extending to each side at the end of her tail, she has a saw blade at the end. She balances on this blade and by turning it, uses it to move around. Being a saw blade, she also uses it to fight crime. I can only assume she uses it to ward off unwanted amourous advances.
So why include this character on a site of centaurs and a few mermaids? Because just like centaurs and mermaids, she has a human torso, but below her hips is something not human. Not an equine aspect, not the tail of a dolphin or fish, but a saw blade. A big one. You have to admit, there's something kind of cool about it.
There's also some sort of sexual inference here, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. Anyway, here are pages from Defenders of Dynatron City featuring Buzzsaw Girl.
This comic only made about five issues before it ceased publication. No mermaids or centaurs appeared in it. Anyway, below are the pages that feature Buzzsaw Girl.
