Centaur Photomorphs

Share photomorphs you created or found around the internet.

Let's keep it "safe for work" as usual in this section. NSFW goes in the NSFW section (request access).

Here's what centaursite.com had to say about the photomorphs section:

For many years, ages in fact, centaurs had only been seen with the eye, or drawn or painted. Only with the invention of photography were images of actual centaurs able to be captured.

However, with centaurs being normally shy and retiring, it wasn't easy to get good quality pictures of them. So, using masking and darkroom processes, fairly realistic images of centaurs were made. As illustrated below by the cover of Roger Daltry's solo album, 'Ride a Rock Horse'. With the advent of motion picture film, images of animated centaurs, drawn by professionals were seen by the public. Most notably, Fantasia, Walt Disney's masterpiece

Today, with high power computers and inticate graphics progams, most anyone can, with good images of horses and humans, 'make' a centaur. This process has been labeled 'photomorphing'. The cropping of an image of a human and that of a horse, and combining them electronically is almost commonplace. What is not commonplace however, is doing so that the resulting image looks 'real'

On this page are photomorph images that are wonderfully realistic. Getting the pose of the horse, or equine aspect, the human, the background and lighting to match and blend properly is a combination of talent, skill and luck. Of course, getting an actual photograph of a centaur is still extreemly difficult because, as stated above, centaurs remain shy and retiring creatures.
